TOM CONNELLY

Connelly – Thomas Arthur, 61, Miami, Florida, died November 25, 2014 at South Miami Hospital.  Born October 31, 1953 in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Thomas Newman and Dolores (Tully) Connelly. 

 

Preceded in death by sister, Mary Jo Plummer, brother-in-law Paul Plummer, and brother in-law John R. Young.  Survived by close friends and brother and sisters:  Janice L. Young, Summerhill, PA; Robert E. (Lois J. Kautz), Johnstown, and Grace E. Eisenhuth (Scott), Silver Spring, MD.  Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Tom loved the town of Summerhill, PA where he grew up and served for a time as organist for St. John’s Catholic Church. 

 

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh after studying anthropology, and then built a career as an executive search professional traveling around the country and the world.  He especially loved Burma (Myanmar).

 

His career included working for 20 years at Korn Ferry; 9 years as managing director of Old Burma Tours, and, most recently, as a consultant for international tourism.

 

At home, he enjoyed good books, movies, conversation, and music-- especially playing the piano. 

Most importantly, Tom’s warmth and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him. 

 

Funeral arrangements will be private.
